POLICE COURSE BOLSTERS LOCAL WOMEN OF ALL AGES

Veronica Pless attacks a “bad guy” during a training scenario in a women’s self-defense class on Jan. 24 at the Bentonville Police Department. The class taught participants several skills to defend themselves and provided several scenarios in which to practice their new skills.
"Get back!” they yelled, their fists coming up in front of their faces defensively. They threw a quick punch. A loud “No!” came with it. Another strike. “No!” And another. “NO!” The force of the word intensified as its volume grew, repeated again and again by the women circling the edge of the training room.
