A little boy in a blue tie runs through the house, blond hair swinging into his eyes. His little sister sits on a cushion in the corner, playing quietly in a child-oriented book nook.

AT A GLANCE

A REFUGE FOR TRAVELERS

Christopher’s House is named for the late Chris Waller, a beloved member of First United Methodist Church in Springdale.

The first name suggested for the transitional living center was the Waller Home, Stacy Waller said.

She wanted something a little more personal. When she discovered that St. Christopher is the patron saint of travelers, she thought Christopher’s House would be the perfect name.

“It’s associated with people traveling, moving through,” she said of the name. “At the same time, it’s in honor of Chris.”
