Alcohol to be available during Fayetteville’s family celebration

Fayetteville’s New Year’s Eve celebration returns tonight with some major changes after a year’s hiatus. For the first time, alcohol will be served at the “family-friendly event.” For 12 years, First Night Fayetteville was billed as an alcohol-free New Year’s Eve celebration. In 1999, it drew a crowd of about 12,000, according to promoters.
