Cooking Fire Damages Apartment Kitchen

ONE PERSON OVERCOME BY SMOKE, TREATED AT WASHINGTON REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER

Members of the Fayetteville Fire Department retract the support mechanism attached to the ladder truck Monday at the Maria H. apartment complex in Fayetteville near West Melmar Drive and North Leverett Avenue after a fire engulfed an apartment’s kitchen. The fire began after grease was left unattended on the stove, but damage was contained to the kitchen of unit 101.

An effort to deep fry a chicken patty got out of control Monday, setting a kitchen ablaze at a Fayetteville apartment complex.
