Park Commission Discusses Bid Overrun

Possible cuts to the city’s planned aquatic center and sports park were among options discussed Wednesday by members of the city’s Parks Commission.

Money Allotment
Voters approved a 1 percent sales tax extension in September to repay $135.4 million in improvement bonds.
• $26.8 million is designated for three major park projects: $10 million each for a sports park and aquatic center and $5 million for the renovation of Lake Atalanta.
• $4.6 million for fire equipment.
• $2 million for police cars.
• The balance is designated for street projects.
