Fort Smith voters asked to reapportion 1% levy
March sales tax election covers $200 million

City directors are expected to consider an ordinance Jan. 3 setting an election in March to ask voters to use an existing 1 percent sales tax to finance nearly $200 million in water, wastewater, fire protection and parks improvements.
