Steven Carl Williams

— A self-described talent coach was sentenced to 20 years in prison after admitting to sexually assaulting one of his students.

Steven Carl Williams, 52, of Bentonville pleaded guilty Tuesday to sexual assault in the first degree, a Class A felony; two counts of sexual assault in the second degree; a Class B felony; and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, a Class A misdemeanor. He pleaded no contest to three counts of failure to appear, a Class C felony; and tampering and harassment, both Class A misdemeanors.

The plea was under an agreement Public Defender Janette McKinney reached with Chief Deputy Prosecutor Stuart Cearley.

Williams was arrested by Bentonville police in 2009 in connection with his relationship with three girls. The girls were 12, 13 and 14 at the time. Williams was their talent coach, according to court documents.
