STRING OF BURGLARIES: Police Arrest Five

MULTIPLE THEFTS REPORTED IN BELLA VISTA, MISSOURI

— Police said Wednesday they arrested four adults and one juvenile in connection with a string of burglaries across two states.

Police identified the adults as Bentonville residents Tiffany Jessica Allen, 23, of 810 S.E. Falcon Apt. 22, Romil Delossantos-Hernandez, 18, of 5302 S.W. Monaco Lane, Alfredo Salazar, 18, of 808 S.E. Falcon Building 32 Apt. 11, and Kevon Ladon Sturkey, 18, of 808 S.E. Falcon Building 32 Apt. 11.

Each was charged with three felony counts of commercial burglary and were in the Benton County Jail awaiting bond hearings Wednesday.

A 17-year old boy was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center to be held for a detention hearing, police said.

“The juvenile had been arrested for the same thing in November,” said Detective Mark Jordan with the Bentonville Police Department.

Jordan said two of the five arrested talked to police, breaking the case.

“We talked to the girl and she admitted they broke into a couple of places in McDonald County (Missouri) last week,” Jordan said. “We checked with McDonald County and they’d had a couple of break-ins.”

At 12:38 a.m. Wednesday, Bentonville officers responded to an alarm at Duncan Jewelers at 220 N. Walton Blvd., police said. Officers discovered the business had been burglarized. Forced entry was made through the front door and it appeared jewelry was taken.

As the morning went on, officers learned of additional burglary reports in Bella Vista and McDonald County.

At 2:40 a.m., a Bentonville officer reported he spotted a suspicious vehicle in the area of Frontage Road and Benton County 40 in northern Bentonville. The blue Ford Explorer was stopped for traffic violations, police said.

The officers said they received conflicting stories during the traffic stop from the five people in the Explorer.

Officers said they found several items in the vehicle that connected the five to the burglaries, including a baseball bat with glass shards, gloves and ski masks.

Officers recovered jewelry stolen from Duncan Jewelers, as well as cash taken from a Subway in Bella Vista.

The other burglary reported in Bella Vista was at Las Fajitas restaurant.

“They’d hit the jewelry store first, then went to McDonald County and worked their way back down,” Jordan said.

Police said the investigation is ongoing, and officers believed the five may be responsible for additional burglaries.
