10:42 a.m. update Gary Ricker, Greenland police chief, identified the boy as Cutter Watkins and the woman as Tammy Moore.

Cutter was transported to Washington Regional Medical Center with a swollen knee but no broken bones, Ricker said.

Moore was turning left, not going very fast, when she hit Cutter, Ricker said. He said she was cited for failure to yield.

8:36 a.m. update A 12-year-old Greenland Middle School student was taken by ambulance to Washington Regional Medical Center Wednesday morning after he was hit by a car.

Superintendent Charles Cudney said the boy, whom he would not identify, was crossing U.S. 71 in a crosswalk when an approaching car slowed but did not stop in time. He said the car "grazed" the boy's leg and his injuries were not life-threatening.
