Aquatic Center Bids Higher Than Expected

Bids for the dirt work/storm drainage and utilities for the city’s new aquatic center came in higher than the engineer’s estimate.

Companies could bid on the dirt work/storm drainage, site utilities or a combination bid for aquatic center projects. Bidders were Crowder, ARCO, NEC, Ground Zero, Decco, Nabholz and Fochtman.

• Lowest bid for the dirt work/storm drainage was ARCO at $619,600

• Lowest bid for site utilities was NEC at $146,300

• Highest bid for dirt work/storm drainage was NEC at $1.3 million

• Highest bid for site utilities was ARCO at $232,600
