PURPLE’DOG SEND-OFF Susie Baker holds a sign and Grayson Coats waves a pole with a tiger at the end of a string Friday while they stand with others to cheer Fayetteville High School’s Bulldogs as they leave for Little Rock at the high school. The team plays Bentonville High School’s Tigers for the 7A championship at noon today in War Memorial Stadium. For a related report previewing the game, turn to sports, 6A.

Letting high school students broadcast their school’s team in the state championship game isn’t as simple as it might sound.

I really think that the AAA should change the rule and do away with the 1000.00 fee. "To Protect Gate Reciepts" do they really think they are going to fill up War Memorial with a high school game. There will be a big crowd but I don't think there should be fear of the AAA not making their money from any game. After all this is high school that is paid for with TAX dollars. There should be no charge ever to film or photo a game unless there is money to be made from the broadcast or sale of photo's. The control of the AAA is way out of line and has been for a long time it is time to change the way it they work.

If the AAA wants to make more $ on the game, the game should have been played at the University of Arkansas football stadium. They would have sold more tickets and avoided the time and expense of the drive to Little Rock for the school districts and the fans.
