Property Owners Association, City Present Trails Plan

— The Property Owners Association and the city will sponsor a gathering to present the community’s proposed long-range trail plan.

The presentation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Aug. 24 at Riordan Hall, 3 Riordan Drive. The public will have the opportunity to review the proposed maps and ask questions.

Members of the association’s Recreation Division and Recreation Committee, as well as the city’s Planning Department, hosted two public workshops in March for public input on the plan, according to a news release.

The staff and committee members used those suggestions from recreational bicyclists, runners and pedestrians and residents who would like to see trails throughout the village. The group hopes to extend its trail system, which will be used and enjoyed by Bella Vistans for years to come, according to the release.

The community already has several trails, including the Tanyard Creek Nature Trail and Loch Lomond Walking Trail. In addition, the association is in the process of constructing the Blowing Springs Trail, which is expected to be completed later this year, according to the release.

For more information, call the association’s recreation manager, Clem Morgan, at 479-855-5073 or Chris Suneson with the city of Bella Vista at 479-876-1255.
