Doug Powell’s hybrid boat hits the water for the first time at the town of Beaver on the White River. He built the kayak using the “stitch and glue” method and a strip planking process.
Doug Powell came from a woodworking and sailing family in Maryland, sailing the Chesapeake Bay, the Atlantic coast and the Caribbean.
