Battery C To Be Retired

UNIT OF THE 142ND SERVED IN KOREA, BOSNIA AND IRAQ

First Sgt. Dale Harrington loads a vehicle on his wrecker Wednesday in Gravette. The Arkansas National Guard 142nd Field Artillery’s First Battalion Battery C is being retired and Harrington has decided to also retire.

The Arkansas National Guard 142nd Fires Brigade’s 1st Battalion Battery C will be retired this year after more than five decades of service including deployments to Korea, Bosnia and Iraq.

Battery Cookout

Current and former National Guardsmen from Battery C and their families are invited to a cookout Aug. 13. The battery is being decommissioned Oct. 1.

When: 6 to 9 p.m., Aug. 13

Where: Rogers National Guard Armory, 1408 S. First St., Rogers
