OFFICIAL SAYS STREET WIDENING PROJECT TO BE COMPLETE IN 2012

Mike Churchwell, Bentonville transportation engineer, talks Thursday about improvements to I Street while standing on a section of road that will become Arkansas 112 when completed. I Street is undergoing a $15.5 million project which will widen the road to four lanes with a median estimated to be completed in August or September 2012, barring major complications.
The widening of Southwest I Street from two to five lanes should be complete by the fall of 2012.
