MAGNOLIA A graduate of Southern Arkansas University has left $2 million to the school for scholarships for women seeking science and technology degrees.
Cinda Hallman graduated from the college in Magnolia in 1966. The university announced Tuesday that the $2 million gift will become part of the school's endowment.
Hallman was chief executive officer of the Spherion Corp., a staffing and recruitment company. Hallman was also a vice president with DuPont, where she was credited with adapting the company's information systems to new business models.
She died in 2007.
SAU President David Rankin said Hallman demonstrated that someone from a small town in Arkansas can rise to the top in the corporate world.
