Posted: September 3, 2010 at 11:10 a.m.

The burn ban has been lifted for Washington County.

County Sheriff Tim Helder announced Friday that Washington County Judge Marilyn Edwards has lifted the burn ban.

Officials said the area is still under a Red Flag Fire Alert, with some conditions remaining dry, windy and not favorable for burning.

The fire threat remains high. Officials said any outside burning should be avoided if at all possible.
