Where I live: I live in Rogers in Beaver Shores out by Prairie Creek. I chose the location because that’s where the woman I fell in love with lives. It’s a three-story house, and it has a balcony and an open roof with big beams that are just cool. I would have chosen the house myself if she hadn’t already picked it out.

Occupation: Accounting technician at the [Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks in Fayetteville]. I also created the Northwest Arkansas Wild Wheels wheelchair basketball team in 2008. I had played in Fort Smith for years, and I decided that the drive to Fort Smith was too long. We practice every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. We are here to entertain. We do it for activity. It takes money, participation and volunteers. We have a number of volunteers, which is great. Our market is folks who are challenged with limited incomes and are interested in a sport that has a fixed cost to it. In order to play, you need a basketball wheelchair, and those cost about $2,000. For some, that’s too much. Our goal is to be able to get as many [residents in wheelchairs] to become active as possible.

My favorite space: On our deck.

Why? We have a futon out there, and it looks over a woody area but you can still see the lake. You can hear the birds chirping. We even had an armadillo out there yesterday. The dogs can get out there and play and go crazy without getting out. It’s nice feeling elevated above the woods.

If I could do one thing to improve this space I would: Make it bigger and put a hot tub on it.
