MEMPHIS — U.S. Marshals have captured an Arkansas fugitive in Chicago, 30 years after he disappeared.
A statement from the U.S. Marshals Service Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force Office in Memphis stated 68-year-old Ranzell Nelson, also known as Curtis Nelson, was caught on Thursday trying to leave a home in Chicago.
Nelson was wanted in Crittenden County, Ark., on a 1980 first-degree murder warrant.
He was taken to the Cook County, Ill., jail pending extradition to West Memphis, Ark.
