— With 21 flavors of frozen yogurt from which to choose and more than 80 toppings available, “everybody gets to make it just the way you want,” says Kim McNeill, owner of YumYos Help Yo Self Frozen Yogurt shop on Rainbow Curve in Bentonville.

“We thought this would be a good family place - just a happy place, where peoplecould come enjoy a treat,” says McNeill, who with her husband, Jonathan, opened the locally owned and operated eatery a month ago.

Light blue walls and bright lime green and orange plastic chairs give YumYos a cheery interior, and the back wall is home to a row of silver yogurt machines.

A sign explains the “5 easy steps to yogurt bliss”:

First, patrons select a container, either a cup or a waffle cone.

They then dispense however much yogurt they want of whichever flavors they choose.

YumYos offers low-fat, nonfat and non-dairy options; flavors rotate, but usually include white chocolate mousse, Dreamy Dark Chocolate (which is blendof five different chocolates, McNeill says, and is the shop’s No. 1 seller), strawberry cheesecake (another highly popular choice) and mango sorbet. A seasonal pumpkin pie option debuted Monday.

Customers can then work their way down a double-sided toppings bar, where treats like strawberries, kiwiberries, cherries, cookie dough chunks, peanut brittle pieces, jelly beans, hot fudge and marshmallow creme beg to be sprinkled or drizzled on.

The “masterpiece” is then weighed, costing 42 cents per ounce.

The final of the five steps to bliss is to enjoy the creation, either at the shop’s indoor or outdoor patio tables or on the go.
