Two Jailed In Connection With Burglary

— Two people were arrested in connection with a string of burglaries in the northern part of Benton County, according to officials with the Benton County Sheriff’s Office.

Police arrested Stacey Leffingwell, 40, of 309 Spencer St. in Bentonville and Joshua Patterson, 32, of 501 Cedar Creek Lane in Garfield Wednesday morning.

Audrey Thompson, an investigator with the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, located the pair in the Rogers area about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Office.

The two were taken into custody in Springdale after a pursuit with help from the Springdale and Rogers police departments, the news release said.

Police say the two are responsible for the thefts of knives, a camera and camera equipment, a handgun, a chain saw, jewelry, electrical tools and a coin collection.

The investigation concluded after Thompson received information about who was behind the burglaries, authorities said.

Leffingwell was in the Benton County Jail on Wednesday in connection with parole violation, 14 counts of forgery, felony fleeing and several traffic offenses.

Patterson was in the Benton County Jail on Wednesday in connection with parole violation and misdemeanor failure to appear.

The pair likely will face additional charges associated with the burglaries when the investigation is complete, authorities with the Sheriff’s Office said.
