Arkansas women win Vegas title

Arkansas freshman Emily Tubert won the individual championship at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown on Wednesday, leading the Razorbacks to the team title.

Tubert never relinquished the lead after firing an openinground, 9-under-par 63 on Monday, setting a record for a competition round by an Arkansas women’s golfer. After a 68 on Tuesday, she finished with a two-over 74 on Wednesday for a three-day total of 205. That bettered the previous Arkansas three-round record of 207, set by Stacy Lewis.

Teammates Kelli Shean and Corinna Rees finished in a tie for second, with three-day totals of 210.

The Arkansas team finished with a three-day total of 846, 23 strokes ahead of second-place finisher Kent State.

VOLLEYBALL Arnold leads Harding

Freshman Mollie Arnold had 17 kills and 15 digs Tuesday to lead Harding (14-10, 7-2 Gulf South Conference) to a 25-14, 25-20, 27-25 victory over Christian Brothers (16-11, 8-2) in Searcy.
