LITTLE ROCK — A University of Arkansas poll shows Republican John Boozman with a wide lead over incumbent Democrat Blanche Lincoln in the race for her Senate seat.
The poll released Wednesday shows that 54 percent of "very likely" voters said they'll vote for Boozman while 35 percent said they'd back Lincoln. Eleven percent didn't know or refused to say who they'd back. The margin of error was 4.2 percentage points.
A total of 771 random adults completed telephone surveys between Oct. 8 and Oct. 20. Of them, 566 said they were "very likely" to vote.
Fewer than a third of very likely voters approved of Lincoln's performance as senator.
Lincoln is seeking a third term in the Senate. Boozman is a congressman from Northwest Arkansas.
