NORTHWEST ARKANSAS — Army Pvt. Troy Ward has graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla. He is the son of Melode Ward of Bella Vista and graduated from a home school program in 2010.
Army National Guard Pvt. Derek M. Walker has graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla. He is the son of Jesse and Teri Monreal of Gentry and a 2009 graduate of Gentry High School.
Army National Guard Pvt. Derek A. Pearson has graduated from basic military training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla., under the Split-option Enlistment Program to serve as a member of the Army National Guard or Reserve.
After completing basic training, the recruits will attend National Guard or Reserve weekenddrills while still in school. The summer following graduation, the guardsmen or reservists attend advanced individual training in the career specialty they selected at the time they enlisted. Pearson is the son of Kimberly and Ronald Pearson of Bentonville and a student at Bentonville High School.
Air Force Airman Adam D. Ray graduated from basicmilitary training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Charles Ray of Anchorage,Alaska, and Shirley Minor of Bentonville. Ray graduated in 2002 from Bentonville High School, and received an associate degree in 2006 from the University of Alaska.
