Earnings report

— Companies reporting quarterly earnings Friday included:

AirTran Holdings Inc., the parent company of AirTran Airways, a profit of $36.3 million, or 22 cents a share, up from $10.4 million, or 8 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue rose 12 percent to $667.9 million. Shares rose a penny to close at $7.49.

Exelon Corp., the Chicago utility company, a profit of $845 million, or $1.27 a share, up from $757 million, or $1.14 a share, a year ago. Revenue rose 22 percent to $5.29 billion. Shares fell $1.52 to close at $42.

Honeywell International Inc., the technology and manufacturing company, a profit of $499 million, or 64 cents a share, down from $608 million, or 80 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue rose 9 percent to $8.39 billion. Shares rose 59 cents to close at $47.26.

Schlumberger Ltd., the largest U.S. oil-field services company by sales, a profit of $1.73 billion, or $1.38 a share, up from $787 million, or 65 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue rose 26 percent to $6.85 billion. Shares rose $3.46 to close at $67.77.
