— Central Arkansas Roller Derby is one of three women’s flat-track skating leagues in Arkansas.

The league does not conduct tryouts; it admits all women age 21 and older who want to join. The league attracted so many new skaters this summer that it has expanded its Rock-n-Renegades to two teams.

They practice almost every Tuesday and Thursday night at Skate World, 6512 Mabelvale Cut Off Road in Little Rock. More information is at cearderby.com and on the team’s Facebook and MySpace pages.

In western Arkansas, the River Valley Roller Girls practice at Wheels in Motion, 1007 Fayetteville Road in Van Buren. More information is at rivervalleyroller girls.com.

The Northwest Arkansas Roller Derby league includes three teams: Fresh Meat, Arkansas Killbillies and the Backwoods Betties. They train at Starlight Skatium, 612 N. College Ave. in Fayetteville. It recently hosted a men’s roller derby bout. More information is at nwarollerderby.com and on Facebook.
