Saturday Food Drive Benefits Furry Friends

— Ranger’s Pantry, a pet food bank operated by the city of Fayetteville, will hold a pet food drive from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the city of Fayetteville parking lot on Church Street (south of Church Street and Mountain Avenue). Donations may also be dropped off at any Fayetteville fire station or at the Community Services Office at 125 W. Mountain St.

Any size or brand of dog or cat food will be accepted. Cash donations are also welcome and will be used for the purchase of pet food for Ranger’s Pantry.

The food bank is designed to help pet owners in Fayetteville who are going through temporary financial hardship to keep their animals. Since opening its doors in May, the food bank has assisted nearly 90 Fayetteville families, distributing more than 3,000 pounds of dog food and more than 650 pounds of cat food.
