Packers forecast loss from rule shift

Livestock groups say GDP to fall

An industry-commissioned economic analysis of proposed changes to livestock marketing rules projects a $1.5 billion loss to the country’s annual gross domestic product and a reduction of more than $359 million in tax revenue within the first five years of implementation.
