Fees advised for center

Jones Trust retains YMCA consultant

The $40 million, 220,000-square-foot Jones Center for Families in Springdale opened in October 1995 as a free community center. A recent consultant’s report commissioned by the Jones Trust suggests that the center could be converted into a feebased fitness center.

The nonprofit Jones Center for Families should convert to a fee-based fitness center that supports itself with revenue from membership dues, sponsorships and rental agreements, according to a report recently commissioned by the Jones Trust, the foundation that owns the Jones Center.
