Firm Seeks To Expand Landfill

Waste Management seeks to expand its Eco-Vista Landfill in Tontitown by 33 acres by modifying its facility design to increase the facility’s disposal capacity to its previously approved level.

Landfill Expansion

The board of directors of the Boston Mountain Solid Waste District will vote at 1 p.m. today at the Huntsville District Courtroom at 208 E. War Eagle Ave. in Huntsville on whether to approve a 33-acre expansion of Waste Management’s Eco-Vista landfill in Tontitown.

Regulations require landfill companies to seek approval from solid-waste districts to change the geographical location of a planned landfill expansion.
