Construction of the city’s newest park is almost complete.
Orchards Park has an opening date of July 4. It appears now the park will be ready for visitors a little sooner than expected with the announcement of a summer concert series that starts June 25 at the park.
“Our ribbon-cutting and our grand opening ceremony will still be held on July 4, and I think it’s very fitting that we have that on our nation’s birthday,” Parks and Recreation Department Manager David Wright said. “We’re far enough along where we can go ahead and start our summer concert series on June 25.”
