Redistricting Likely Means More Influence For Northwest

Next year’s redistricting is likely good for Northwest Arkansas and successful candidates in this year’s elections, political experts said. The region will gain influence and the winners will have a stronger hold on their seats. The state’s political boundaries at all levels of representative government — from school boards to congressional districts — are changed at least once every decade to reflect population shifts recorded by the U.S. Census. Those results are expected in February 2011.

We could wish that was true. However, funding follows the Highway Commissioners and there is one from each Congressional district in the state.
