Compton Gardens sets two-day event

Compton Gardens in Bentonville will host National Public Garden Days on Friday, May 8, in conjunction with the garden’s annual native plant sale Saturday, May 8. National Public Garden Days will include five stations designed to celebrate what makes Compton Gardens unique. Docents will staff each station and lead guests through the native plants, shrubs and trees of the area. The Compton Interactive Center and Conference Center will offer history on conservationist and Ozark Society founder Dr. Neil Compton, hisfamily and his fight to stop the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers from damming the Buffalo River at Lone Rock and Gilbert.
