Crystal Bridges to unveil art monthly

Two works by female artists, announced as part of the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art collection Tuesday, show the changing role of women in American art history.
A portrait by 19th century artist Susan Catherine Moore Waters and a contemporary installation piece by New York artist Devorah Sperber are the first of planned monthly announcements designed to gradually unveil the collection as workers construct the museum on a 100-acre wooded site in downtown Bentonville.
“It’s something we can show the public,” spokesman Kendall Curlee said. “We know there’s a lot of excitement surrounding the collection.”
