The ball never had a chance. Ricardo Martinelli badly wanted to throw a strike, but nerves got the better of him that February afternoon on the Hogs’ diamond at Baum Stadium. It was his first appearance at his alma mater since he was elected president of Panama in 2009, and he was pumped.
