COMMENTARY UA Basketball Spin An Insult

So the only problem with the University of Arkansas basketball team the past two years has been assistant coach Isaac Brown.

Brown was the only staff change after this year’s what’sbecoming-normal Three Mile Island meltdown at the end of the season.

Jeez.

The only thing more bizarre than the coaching change is the statement from UA Athletics Director Jeff Long.

Is former UA Chancellor John White back on campus writing news releases for the basketball program?

White has been the only man to insult Razorback sports fans’ intelligence worse than the statement released this week by Long.

And, by the way, Long is closing fast on the stupidity of the “golden handcuffs” statement White made in “releasing” former ...

Fantastic column, Bob. Failfree? I like it.

The most bizarre press release I ever have seen. Well, along with the Clarke is staying release, which was the only such "he is staying" press release I ever have seen, and I've been covering college basketball (Arkansas, Purdue, Indiana, Florida Gulf Coast) for 17 years.

Stay on 'em, and hopefully one day the Powers That Be Stupid will bring back Mike Anderson. In the meantime, Go Mizzou! (sigh)

There should have been a change after 2-15.
This could get real ugly with another poor season next year.

Thank you Bob Caudle for your article. You wrote it like it should be
written that John White and his "Golden
Handcuffs" to Jeff Long accepting this
John Pelphrey as Arkansas' coach. John
Pelphrey might have his player number in
Rupp Arena hanging in the raftors but he
CANNOT COACH.
ARKANSAS NEEDS CHANGES IN THE MENS
AND WOMENS BASKETBALL COACHES. Tom Collen is the womens head coach. Gary
Blair should have never been forced to
leave Bev Lewis would not renew his contract - he brought Arkansas to the
womens Final Four in 1998. He is now at
Texas A & M he has them in the top ten
year after year, he won the Big 12 womens tourament, and is in the NCAA womens tourament

A little harsh but more or less on the money. Mike Anderson probably won't be available for awhile if ever but there is a pretty good coach living right here in God's country. BRING BACK NOLAN!
