City Increases Builder Regulations On Hillsides

Homes built on hillsides in Fayetteville in the future will have to undergo a bit more expert evaluation. The City Council has beefed-up the city’s Hillside-Hilltop Overlay District to require foundations for homes or apartments within the district get the approval of a licensed engineer or architect. The Hillside Overlay District applies to areas in town with more than 15 percent slope.
