More Than 1,400 Expected To Participate Today

Today’s Bentonville Half Marathon has attracted more than 1,400 participants in its first year.
Race officials, though, won’t know for sure how much of a success the event was until the runners hit the course.
“We’ll probably be running on adrenaline until the race happens,” said Blair Cromwell, race coordinator. “I will be happy when I know that nobody is hurt and all the volunteers (400 of them) have been safely transported back to their homes.
“With every race you’re going to have some concerns. I know there’s things we’re going to do wonderfully and some things we’ll need to work on for next year.”
