Accident Temporarily Closes Sophomore Center
GAS LINE HIT AT HIGH SCHOOL CONSTRUCTION AREA

Construction workers and representatives with Arkansas Western Gas dig a hole Friday to shut off a natural gas line feeding into Springdale High School after an excavator clipped the two-inch line causing a leak. Part of the high school was evacuated as a precaution, but there were no reports of injuries.
Springdale High School’s Sophomore Center building was evacuated for about 2 1/2 hours after construction crews hit a natural gas line on campus Friday morning.
