Posted: March 11, 2010 at 1:21 p.m.

— Police confirmed the identity of a woman found dead in a room at the Ranch-O-Tel Motel March 3.

The State Crime Laboratory identified the woman as Shelia Gutierrez of Rogers.

Officers responded to the motel at 1805 S. Eighth St. after receiving a call requesting a welfare check on the occupants of one of the rooms.

Upon arrival, police managed to get Nathanial Meyers, 30, to come to the door.

Further investigation revealed Gutierrez, deceased, was also in the room.

Meyers was arrested in connection with a failure to appear warrant, a misdemeanor. He remained in the Benton County Jail Thursday afternoon with no bond set.

Police are still awaiting an autopsy report to determine Gutierrez’s cause of death.
