The Museum of Native American Artifacts in Bentonville was honored Tuesday with the 2010 Arkansas Heritage Award. The award is a subcategory of the annual Henry Awards, which honor individuals or groups who have contributed to the success of the state tourism industry. The museum was honored by the state Department of Parks and Tourism for contributions toward the preservation of Arkansas’ natural, cultural and aesthetic legacy. “It really is exciting,” museum founder David Bogle said Wednesday. “One of the things that is going to make this award special is that we’re a free museum, and we don’t have money for advertising.
