Local Car Company Damaged By Fire

The Fayetteville Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of a fire that destroyed a car dealership Tuesday night.

Assistant Fire Chief Bud Thompson said firefighters responded to the Osburn Motor Co., 2900 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., at 9:32 p.m. after a witness reported smoke coming from the roof of the building.

Nobody was in the building and no injuries were reported as a result of the blaze, he said.

The fire, smoke and water did an estimated $300,000 in structural damage and another $150,000 to the interior contents, Thompson said.
