STAFF PHOTO J.T. WAMPLER Jerry Don Sykes appears in Judge William Storey’s courtroom Monday for a hearing on motion of ineffective counsel. He was convicted of capital murder in the death of his girlfriend, Sandra Stokes, who was hog-tied and gagged with duct tape on March 2, 2007. Stokes died of asphyxiation.
