Half Marathon More Than Race

Bentonville Half Marathon organizers expect about 1,200 runners Saturday. The race, though, isn’t the only attraction participants and spectators will experience.

Race organizers have included other activities Friday and Saturday to try to make the event more appealing to both runners and visitors.

“The big part from entertainment is that this is an event for the runners, but it’s also a community event,” said Bentonville Parks and Recreation Director David Wright, who serves as the event’s entertainment coordinator. “There will be a huge event here on the (Bentonville square) where if somebody wants to show up at 7:30 in the morning and cheer on the runners, we’ll have a DJ on stage that will ...
