Expanding the list of Best Picture nominees won’t solve Oscars’ real problem

A Navi named Neytiri (motion-capture performance of Zoe Saldana) counsels her new friend Jake (motion-capture performance of Sam Worthington) in the Best Picture nominee Avatar, the highest-grossing movie in history.
The old complaint about the Oscars was that “nobody” saw the movies nominated for Best Picture.
