Early Voting May Expand To Quorum Court Room

Cost eliminates track center as possibility

Costs to house an early voting site at the University of Arkansas’ track complex has shelved election commissioners’ plans to expand there.

As a result, early voting at the Washington County Courthouse may be expanded into the Quorum Court meeting room on the second floor.

County Clerk Karen Combs Pritchard told election commissioners this week she’d like to use the room for early voting with electronic voting machines for the Nov. 2 general election. Early voting with paper ballots would continue to be in the county clerk’s office on the third floor, she said.
