Rogers Set For 7A Foes

Familiar foes will meet today in the quarterfinals at the Class 7A State Tournament in Van Buren.

The Rogers High Lady Mounties will face Conway at 7 p.m. at Van Buren High School. Rogers (21-6) received a first-round bye while Conway defeated Bentonville 55-42 in a first-round game Thursday.

The Mounties (22-5) will face Little Rock Central (14-14) in another quarterfinal game at 8:30 p.m. Central defeated Springdale Har-Ber 65-48 on Thursday.

The Mounties have used a balanced attack to win 10 of their last 11 games heading into the tournament. Josh Anderson is the Mounties’ leading scorer (12 points per game) and Mounties coach Marty Barnes said the sophomore and the rest of the Mounties must ...
