Springdale Har-Ber hasn’t thrived during many third quarters this season.

So with the Wildcats trailing Little Rock Central by two points at halftime Thursday at the Class 7A State Tournament, Har-Ber coach Eric Burnett had a simple request.

“Third quarters have killed us this season, so I told the team that we needed to have a good third quarter,” Burnett said. “We had to turn the game in our favor, and we just couldn’t do it.”

Burnett didn’t blame a lack of effort, but the Wildcats simply couldn’t contain Central after halftime and fell 65-48 in Clair Bates Arena.
