STUDY SHOWS GOOD POPULATION AT BEAVER LAKE

Beaver Lake could be one of the premier walleye lakes in the state in a few years.” Those excited words came from Arkansas Game & Fish Commission fisheries biologist Ron Moore on Wednesday, three weeks into research on the walleye, striper and hybrid striper population at Beaver. Research involves catching fish in gill nets to determine their age and growth rate. The work will ensure good striper and hybrid fishing at Beaver, but it’s the walleye that really have Moore revved up.
