Greek pensioners protest government austerity measures Wednesday outside Athens’ municipal building in front of a statue of Pericles, the ancient statesman of Greece’s Golden Age.
Under pressure from investors and neighbors, Greece unveiled an austerity package Wednesday aimed at cutting $6.5 billion from a government deficit that has roiled international markets and endangered the stability of the euro.
